April 21, 2008 – Goya Foods, the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the United States is bringing the taste of Latin America to Minute Maid Park this season, as it sponsors a new concession stand this year in the Main Concourse area behind Home Plate. The three-year sponsorship includes the Goya Baseball Shuffle video feature, a Houston fan favorite; the new ‘Goya Latin Café’, Latino food concession stand featuring food made with Goya products and ingredients, and sampling promotions throughout the season. Secaucus, NJ, April 18, 2008 – Goya Foods, the family-owned Latin American food company, proudly announced that it has pledged 125,000 pounds of food for families and children on the occasion of the first visit by His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI to the United States. The food donation will allocate 85,000 pounds of food to the nation of Haiti which recently experienced riots brought on by food shortages and economic hardship. The products directed to Haiti will be donated through Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and will originate from Goya facilities in New Jersey, Miami and the Dominican Republic which neighbors the country on the island of Hispaniola. “This very generous donation will allow CRS to supplement our food distributions to some of the most vulnerable populations in Haiti,” said Bill Canny, CRS country representative in Haiti. “We thank Goya for their assistance and look forward to our continued relationship as we help those who have been adversely affected by the current spike in food prices.”...
