Feijoa Jam

Homemade Jam in Less than 30 Minutes!

Feijoa, an egg-sized tree fruit native to South America, especially Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina, has a bright, sweet-tart taste and pale green, juicy flesh. Frozen GOYA® Feijoa Fruit Pulp is perfect for cooking into puddings and pie fillings, making sweet drinks and preserving as thick jam. Here, we add sugar and a sprinkling of fresh ginger for a sweet, tart jam that’s perfect for paring with cheese and spreading onto crackers.

1 pkg. (14 oz.) frozen GOYA® Feijoa Fruit Pulp, thawed

1 cup sugar

¼ inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and very finely chopped (about 1 tbsp.)


1. In small saucepan over medium-high heat, add feijoa fruit pulp, sugar, ½ cup water and ginger; stir to combine. Cook, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens and reduces to 1 cup, about 20 minutes.
2. Transfer fruit mixture to glass jar or bowl; let cool. Cover and transfer to refrigerator. Chill until cold and firm. (*Note: This jam can be stored, covered, in refrigerator, for up to 2 weeks.)
