Pois Et Riz Haitian Style
The name of this recipe is french, but this is a Caribbean version of a great rice and beans meal. A traditional dish in Haiti.
Ingredients
4 tbsp Goya Corn Oil
2 tbsp smoked ham - diced
1 - 16 oz. can Goya Red Kidney Beans
1 tbsp Goya Adobo
2 tbsp fresh parsley
1/4 chili pepper - chopped
4 cups of water
2 cups Goya Rice - Medium Grain
Directions
| 1. | Heat oil in heavy skillet; add ham and brown. Add the beans, seasoning, parsley and chili pepper. |
| 2. | Simmer 3 minutes and add the water. Bring to boil. Add rice and a tsp Corn Oil. |
| 3. | Cover, simmer 20-25 minutes. |
