butter

3½ cups

½ tsp.

<p><span>salt</span></p>

½ cup

<p><span> raisins</span></p>

<p><span>packed brown sugar</span></p>

Step 1

<p>Preheat oven 350° F. Grease a 9” round baking pan.</p>

Step 2

<p>In a large cooking pot combine masarepa, milk, coconut milk, salt, raisins, cinnamon and sugar.</p>

Step 3

<p>Once combined, heat on the stove over medium high heat. Stir constantly to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.</p>

Step 4

<p>Once the batter comes to a boil reduce the heat on low. Continue to stir, Remove when it thickens to yogurt-like consistency.</p>

Step 5

<p>Make sure to remove cinnamon sticks.</p>

Step 6

<p>Pour the batter into prepared baking pan. Baked until arepa is golden brown on top about 40 mins. (insert a knife in the center to check) Allow the arepa to cool before removing it from the pan. Serve.</p>
