<p><span>large onion, chopped</span></p>

<p><span>clove garlic, minced</span></p>

2 cups

<p><span>canned plum tomatoes</span></p>

1 cup

<p><span>macaroni, cooked</span></p>

<p><span>Fresh basil, to taste</span></p>

¼ tsp.

<p>dry basil</p>

½ tsp.

<p>salt</p>

<p><span>Black pepper, few grains</span></p>

Garnish:

<p><span>Grated Parmesan Cheese</span></p>

Step 1

<p>Heat oil in a 2-quart saucepan; add onion and garlic and sauté until onion is tender.</p>

Step 2

<p>Add tomatoes and simmer 10 minutes.</p>

Step 3

<p>Combine beans, cooked macaroni, basil, salt and pepper.</p>

Step 4

<p>Bring to a boil.</p>

Step 5

<p>Serve hot. Garnish with Parmesan cheese.</p>
